Asus's slogan is just downright.... weird...

Don't get me wrong here guys, Asus makes some great laptops and computer components. But what the the deal with...

    "Rock Solid. Heart touching."

Alright I'm sure we get the Rock Solid part, they make some great desktop motherboards. But, heart touching, as I was reading that as I walked by a motherboard box in my room I had a slight chill go down my spine. How is a motherboard, graphics card, or even a laptop heart tourching. Wierd...

What do you guys think of the slogan?

Whenever anyone asks about ASUS notebooks I always say they are "Rock Solid and Heart Touching"... :p

With a slogan like that how can you resist repeating it? ;)

In fact if ASUS changed their slogan I might stop buying their products...

    Don't think they have one.

Don't think Apple has an official one either.

I kinda like the no slogan thing.

In Vietnam, it is still in English. I think my language doesn't have any sentence with the same meaning and as good-sounding as the original one.

It is a shame that their UK customer service is neither rock solid or heart touching.

I think heart touching refers to good styling/emotion from a marketing perspective..

My F3Sa (plagued by the lower right side keyboard crack) has a sticker that reads, "Quality with Environment in Mind." To flesh out this slogan, did they absolutely have to make the upper portion of the chassis out of soy product?

Hardly rock solid. Not even heart touching.

Better than "Republic of Gamers". Now I see why a person I recommended the G50vt-x1 bought a competitor for $500 more. :( I mean, that brand was a good one too, but a long-time Asus customer for their system boards, and having eyed a laptop at Best Buy, the G50vt unit I looked at was VERY solid -- for that price and that feel, it was about the hardware and not the name. And they deserve to be a name. :)

I'm sure it was more meaningful in Chinese, when the head office in Taiwan came up with it.

Well, I meant Chinese as the language as a whole, and not referring to a particular dialect. Afaik, Taiwanese is its own dialect, mostly Mandarin but with some influence from one of the other dialects.

But no, I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. A lot of things are lost in translation. I notice this a lot in Vancouver, because there are a lot of asian products here that have English translations to be sold, but well, some translations are better than others....
