    Hey everyone

Since i live in China i went to the service center and asked them to fix the display problem. it took them around 20 minutes at most (they said this was the first time they touched UX303 :D ). They have run some software and the issue partly dissipated. BIOS remained the same - 203. the colors became better. i asked my girlfriend to compare them before and after (she claims i am color blind DUH) and she also said there is an improvement. Still, yellows are not that light some times, but overall its better now.
i have made few pictures before the fix and after using my NEXUS4 camera(don't blame me, that the only thing i had at the moment). pictures were made in equal lightning conditions with the same screen brightness level in normal mode.

i don't have a permission to upload a picture, so i uploaded the pics here:

https://cloud.mail.ru/public/b47e931d462f/KQ18Y1bX_fU.jpg - the yellow background used for the test.
(hope moderators will keep the links)

And whats more importantly, i have the files asus technician used!

    here is the software
    https://cloud.mail.ru/public/f2ecd9985068/anxIntelEEpromUpdate-eDP-2.3.exe

and here is the .bin file needed for the fix
    https://cloud.mail.ru/public/8488d7e129e5/YW_setting .bin

(i have used Russian cloud servicef for sharing because most of the internationals ones (like dropbox) are blocked in China =( ). to download a file just click on its picture)

the software is in English and is not that difficult to run.
Please note that you should keep your adapter plugged in (the technician asked for the adapter before running the software)

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DEAD MACHINES AND MESSED UP SCREENS! YOU DO EVERYTHING ON YOUR OWN RISK

Please let me know you thoughts about the fix.
Has anything improved? or we should push asus for a better patch?
If needed i can make more pictures.
    hope this helps.
    Cheers!
P.S. sorry if someone has already posted anything like this before, i am new to the forum

It's either OEM or Retail for NB manufacturers so you can try one before you determine the answer.
Also, you can retrieve your product key using a Win8-supported product viewer utility, but as mentioned before, if an OS doesn't support it and prompts you to enter a new key (key not accepted), re-entering the same key from the BIOS will not bypass the prompt.

This may help you determine the information you want.

Open a Command Prompt as Administrator. Enter slmgr /dlv

You will get a lot of information about the IDs, Key, Etc.

    Good luck, Jim

    The yellow color looks good!

Are the before/after photos made while on battery or AC? Have you checked battery life since the fix?

    @Kevin@GenTechPC

    Thx for reply.
I have used the command that @hawkeye62 has suggested to me,
now I know that is a OEM version.
In system preference there is not a N after Windwos 8.1 text so,
I suppose (even if I write from Italy) isn't an European version.

Well, I have tried to install Windows 8.1 from my usb drive.
The first time I can't see it in the bios.
After, surfing on the web, I have found a setting in order to view the usb drive in bios.
The setting are: Fast Bios disable --> Security Boot disable --> Lauch Enabled.
So, I have restarted my asus and try to start the installation from usb but.. nothin is happen.
Any suggestion?? I have also read something about uefi usb setting format

Here are my before and after results. I think yellows look better but colours have become much sharper, bit like when vivid is selected in asus splendid utility. I have selected normal. The vivid looks even more horrible now. Is there a file to revert back to original setting? I just want to experiment a bit.[IMG][IMG]
