The only info known about specs is that display will be a 4K and speakers system will be made by Bang & Olufsen ICEpower.

No thanks. It needs a five year warranty, complete with paid overnight express pick up and delivery. Mine has been out of service too many days due to poor quality jacks.

ASUS or (some other manufacturer) needs to make a 4K 17" inch notebook.

Yes, exactly that's why I want a manufacturer (s) to bring one out before they completely go away.

Of course it would have modern specs SSD, USB 3.0, Thunderbolt port? (not necessary) but it would be nice. Thin/slim (no DVD/Blue ray drive) or at least optional any high end intel or AMD processor would be fine with me although I would prefer intel.

Now will this happen before 17" inch get to a point of being total done away with maybe? Since we now have 15" screens appearing (a couple last year Dell XPS, Precision m3800 the two that I can name off hand) along with the below 15" notebooks I hope so.

I think if there are going to be 2K or 4K screen it would have to be before or in the next refresh of the models (which I assume won't be until Intel Broadwell) to name a few (Razer, Asus, MSI maybe some off brand and they be limited to a 17" gaming notebook. I'm not sure about Dell they have the 15" XPs and I don't think they are going to give the 17" Inspiron a 2k or 4k upgrade or HP I doubt they will give the Pavilion or Envy a screen res above 1080p also in the 17" range but hey anything is possible I guess.

I did almost forget about Dell's Alienware so maybe there next upgrade they could get a 4K screen but not sure about that.
