Wrong. My Alienware M17x R3 with 2630QM and Radeon 6970M got 5 hours of battery life on the integrated graphics. That's right, 5 hours.

My G73JH got 2 hours in comparison.

Exactly right, the integrated graphic work fine for internet surfing, email , etc but you can not run high end games on them. That is a great feature that AW provides.
AFA the 3800 Quadro card, it has 256 bit bus (most mobile cards are 128 or 192). It is designed for Autocad, scientific , etc. I would not pay the premium price for it unless my employer was paying.

Flix, You might want to look at something like this Dell
The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

I am not recommending it, but it is designed for your original purpose (3d animation ..)
Or check out a forum that is associated with the main application (Lightware 3d ??) you will be using for more specific recommendations. From what I have read 1 Gig Video RAM is sufficient for gaming, but in your case more may be benefical (this needs to be researched further).
If you want window and applications to load quickly get a 128 gig SSD (sata III) and a 750 GIG conventional HDD for storage regardless of what laptop you choose.
