Nope but I'm trying to remove it, since I can't stand this ugly logo. Guess I will try something without Acetone first, but didn't have the time yet.

About undervolting. I can really recommend Throttlestop. Thanks to Throttlestop it is possible to undervolt further, since you can undervolt the CPU Cache and Core separately. But be aware, the Cache must be undervoltet to a specific degree, otherwise the core Voltage can't be undervolted any further. I think the have a specific ratio.

Anyone know if its possible to remove the ROG splash screen from boot up?

Edit: Is the "republic of gamers" logo at the lower part of the lid flushed or raised? I plan for a stealthy look and will cover it with a sticker/vinyl

This is with what linux version? Ubuntu with 4.15..4.17 kernels still seem to have problem with non-working touchpad (elan 1404), even with the clock patch.

Standard Ubuntu 16\17\18 installation all working.
But as you said i could not use the touch-pad on any of them.
    Everything else works great though.

One day ill do apt-get upgrade and it will just work.;)

Do you guys think it is wise to downgrade to GM501 from the 1st Gen GX501 ? I dont mind the keyboard placement, but is it worth for the difference of CPU and panel?

In my opinion you won't notice the difference between 4 core or 6 core CPU in games. I would stay on the 4 core CPU because of cooling. What I have seen the 6 core CPU is getting a bit to hot. My GX501 runs at around 80°C on PUBG (repasted with LM). The panel is indeed something I want to have. But I will replace it in my GX501 if it is available somewhere. Well I like the IPS Panel on the GX501 but the response time is around 500% higher than in the GM501.

This machine under load can run very hot.
I get near 100C in machine learning use cases.
I think ASUS gone too thin for this hardware.

We will see how long this machine last raped 24\7 by AI algorithms.

Take a look at the temps:
