MicroCenter has the Asus ROG Strix GL702ZC 17-inch laptop for $1,399, a savings of $100 off list. This has the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 CPU, RX 580 GPU, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, and 1 TB HDD.

I would have loved to see a 15.6” version of this.

They could go the Alienware route and put a 15.6" display in a 17.3" chassis :p

17.3" frame gives more room for cooling, 15.6" is too tiny of a screen to squint at all day long.

Bulk up, hit the weights, 17.3" heavy gets easy to pack around every day, up the reps, after a while it's not even noticeable.

18.4", now that's the size where it really gets sweet. :)

Maybe instead of upping the reps, you could eat some carrots ;)

I had not known about the AMD Helios 500. It’s an interesting laptop! I just wish AMD laptops utilized MXM and socketed CPUs. The Asus laptop with the 1700 and 580 was all soldered right? Or am I mistaken?

    Edit:
    Asus, not acer haha

Hah, nice one! Pahrump bump, tish!!

I have great eye's, because take care of them because I do eat carrots and I juice them too: Carrot+Ginger+Orange+Lemon+Wheatgrass!!

Forcing your eye's focus on such a small screen for hours and hours will drive you batty.

I've had co-workers convert to large screen laptops, and add large external screens after seeing me work with my setup.

Seeing is believing.... so to speak. ;)
