@FastM , are you still happy with your GL702VS ? I'm looking at one and just curious if you're still pretty happy with it.

    @Ryaninja Hi all,
I just bought the Asus GL702VS and I have to say, amazing machine! Although I am also worried about the temps since the CPU reaches 95*C when gaming for an hour with AAA titles.
I wanted to try your undervolting tips.. -0.100 V is it? I am very new to undervolting, as in, this would be my first time to do it and installed the intel XTU for it, however I don't see any undervolting in the range of mV or 100, but rather -0.100Volt down to -1.000 Volt is the max I can reach in the XTU (talking about the core voltage offset). I would appreciate it if you could show me how you did it precisely.
Also, are you undervolting the GPU as well?

I don't understand why people keep buying a laptop that can't even game for an hour without the CPU going over 90 degrees.

Stop buying this crap and force Asus to redesign a thermal management system that actually works.

it throttles down when needed. Doesn't visually impair performance.

The alternatives are either much heavier or thicker.

Just got this from best buy.

It's pretty frustrating to have to tear it down to find it has the gimped out thunderbolt 3 JHL6240 slow speed chip.

Asus wasn't honest and many places are reporting this laptop as 40gbs Tb3 and it's not true.

This laptop is 100% the slow tb3 with the lame JHL6240 controller. I hope this helps someone else from having to go through what I did. Returning this to BB.

Hey link626 haha it's funny you say that.

I posted this in the wrong thread. I meant to post this in your gl702vsk teardown thread. Reason being, you were asking other people to check their tb3 controller I think.
I had you in mind tearing mine down. Consider it doubly confirmed

I was hoping I somehow won the tb3 lottery. Ha

Did anyone buy GL702VS from HidEvolution? They offer custom ventilation mod which they cut holes under both fans. How much will this effect temps? I'm considering this laptop because it's really budget friendly with 120 hz+gsync+1070... But I'm afraid of the temps. I had GL702VM before and that laptop was throttling like there was no tomorrow.

    Rog GL702VS has a new bios 307 2018/01/24.
I was wondering did anyone try this yet?
I have not seen anyone comment on the new bios being released, fan speeds, fixes and such?
