Holy crap; is that after the LM repaste? I was playing playerunknown battlegrounds and when I left the fan on auto temps were going around 90-95c. Is that normal? Seems like I have to turn on speed boost max for fans every time I play intensive games. Cause auto fans seems to not do it itself.

Yes, that's after LM along with a nice long talk with it. :)

I told it that it better behave and perform like it should being that its college tuition is much higher than others.

I always run on max fans when gaming, because it makes no sense to keep it on stock fans when they will be spooling up anyway.

90C's is way too high and this laptop like any other gaming laptop needs to be Repasted.

"A repaste is not an option, it is mandatory."

This Asus has the best heat sink tolerance I've seen in any laptop. It's fan freakintactic. Incredible.

My core differentials are literally even. Perfect fit like a glove.

Also, Repasting the Asus is a breeze. There's nothing to it. Of course there's the technique that's important, but getting the heat sink off is just as easy as my xps 15.

Heck, accessing the ram and M.2 on the back side of the mobo (keyboard) is the tedious part as you will have to remove the entire mobo and getting the edp cable clipped back on is a pain in the rear. Such a thorn.

I'd highly encourage you to repaste. You can do it. :)

darn i wish you had a made a video when you repasted. im scared to do it with liquid metal.but i might have to. and yeah the laptop is only getting ocassional spikes with playerunknown battlegrounds, all the other games are fine at about 85c or so at max fan speed. but of course lower is better. which LM did you use and any tips or anything? i saw someone do it with electrical tape as well as a precaution. also did you delid your or anything?

Hey iunlock, which LM do you recommend? And do I need any thermal paste or electrical tape when doing it?

Hey guys, just got this laptop and was wondering what did you guys run for 24/7 clock settings and if you use the asus software or something else to overclock.

I'd also like to know if you can unlock the power target of the GTX 1080 at all.

    Thanks.

There should be a button above num pad that has an Asus logo and that will open the Asus gaming center. You can select to run at extreme settings which will overclock both
