There is a model available for 3199€ in Germany which has 1x256SSD. Is it possible to add the 2nd ssd and make it raid0 from bios or do I need to do some hardware stuff?

I believe this could be a really good machine however its a little late to the game of 1080 builds and already shows unavailable on the US market. Hopefully there will be a refresh when the new Nvidia GPU's are dropped.

The new Chimera despite using 1x GTX 1080 will use 2x 280W powerbrick instead of 1x 330W. This is true for both the 8950HK and 8750H models.
I wonder what is the reason behind this?
I hope this is because it will have higher TDP window for the GTX 1080 compared to the previous Chimera and the MSI GT75VR.

Do you have links / source for this info? I haven't heard of 280w PSU's from Asus, only 180w, 230w, and 330w.

For startes the pictures on the product page confirms the dual adapters:

Secondly, the product page on HIDEvolution, XoticPC, ExcaliberPC and ProStar retailers website state that the 2 adapters will be 280W each. All of them states 2x280W, they can't all be wrong, can they ?

Both 8750H and 8950HK cpu have 45W TDP, the same as the 7700HQ and 7820HK.
So why does this new model need 560W power compated to the previous 330W ?
I am hoping that ASUS increased the TDP of the GPU in the vBIOS for overclocking and thats why it needs more juice. On the GPU side this laptop has better cooling than the MSI GT75VR, so there is some room even with the low quality factory paste for some boosted TDP.

All previous laptops with Pascal VGA have lower performance compared to their desktop brothers because the manufacturers lowered the TDP to keep them cooler (except Clevo, they don't give a f*ck and give buyers a 200W TDP GTX 1080). This results in Power throttling which lowers the GPU core clock.
For example my current laptop is an ASUS G752VM. With default vBIOS the TDP is 75W which is pretty low if we compare it to the desktop GTX 1060 which has 120W TDP limit.
Because of this the boost clock was around 1720 Mhz core clock.
I increased the TDP in the vBIOS from 75W to 100W (EC has a limit so it did not post with 120W) and without any overclocking the boost clock is 1860 Mhz.
Ofcourse performance has also increased from 11200 Fire Strike graphics score to 12500. This is without OC, if I OC it I can go up to 13700 graphics score.

I am hoping that ASUS increased the TDP of the GTX 1080 for higher and more stable performance and that is why a 2nd adapter is needed...at least I can not think of anything else.
