Okay, I seem to have found the solution for the instability of the laptop when using Corsair Vengeance memory modules. It has little to do with the memory chip itself I believe, but more due to the incompatibility of the clock latency of our motherboard/processor combination.

What I notice is that the 8GB and 16GB modules the laptop came with are rated CL11. So I tried this program (which is unfortunately a commercial software so you'd have to buy it) called Thaiphoon Burner to change the default latency setting to CL11, and the memory now runs fine without any lock-ups when playing demanding games. The speed difference is not that much, so I don't mind the slightly lower latency setting.

Hope this helps everyone who experiences similar problem.

I have the same problem with CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10, Bios 216 and nVidia driver 314.22
The problem only happens whit 3D games: WOT, DOTA2, etc.

    With CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10
    =======================
    Boot... Ok
Using the laptop for browsing, office, photo, etc.. OK
Playing 3D-Games (WOT, DOTA2, etc.. or with Unigine Benchmarks-Heaven or Valley).. Notebook Crashes randomly (usually before 30 min.)

    Now,
I'm trying with only ONE memory module (so.. 8 Gb): looks like more stable. No crashes so far.

Have you tried stressing the notebook with 3D apps?
Games like WOT, LOL, DOTA, etc.. or Unigine Benchmark (Heaven or Valley)?

Mine is everything OK, but 3D.

Thanks, for the answer!!.. but i think my problem is more weird

Looks like Corsair has problems with their production line. They labeled wrong the memory modules.

Yesterday, I notice that the memory that I supposedly bought from AMAZON is not CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10. The label at the memory modules says CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10 but is detected by CPU-Z and similar apps as CMSX8GX3M1A1600C10, A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRODUCT. (Update: Well, after check the specs... the product are very similar)

Took a picture of memory modules. Both says: CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10.
Took a screenshot of CPU-Z. Both says: CMSX8GX3M1A1600C10

I going to write to Corsair TechSupport about this!!!...

(Update 2013-05-07: Corsair ThechSupport says that is OK. "CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10 is a kit SKU #/Part # that consist of the 2 x CMSX8GX3M1A1600C10")

    Hi Guys,

I recently bought my ASUS N56VZ model S4231H which comes with 16GB RAM, i did not purchase those rams separetly, they cale WITH the notebook! You can see it here Asus N56VZ-S4231H 15,6" - Fnac.com - Ordinateur portable
It is a windows 8. And I already have upgraded bios from 215 to 216.

The things is it crashes just as you described! However it crashes with some games, not all. For example, it crahes with Empire Total War and Star Wars Old Republic. But it won t crash with LA NOIRE or Assassin s creed 1. That s BIZARRE, isn t it?
I have already tried all possible drivers including the latest one and that in the ASUS support website.

Right now I can t send it back to asus because I bought in France, and now I m in Brazil! But maybe my father will go back in september, but I don t want to waite up till september to get this thing done!

    My questions are:

Have any of you succeeded in installing 16GB RAM and not having crashes?
Did any of you buy a N56vz that came with 16BG RAM as I did? Do you have the same problem as I do?
If open the notebook to remove one of the 2 8GB RAM that are installed, will I loose my warranty?

    Thanks
