Someone had success story with new BIOS and 2*8GB Corsair?)
    UPD: Damn, VBIOS update again..

    For Community information:
Successfully flashed Nick's BIOS.213 with FTK - and still no luck with Corsair Vengeance 2*8.
Sent a letter with problem description to ASUS techsupp - they replied as expected: N56VZ doesn't support memory sticks above 4GB capacity.
Well, I keep searching around for the solution.

The techsupport reply is false. Official website tells us otherwise:

    ASUS - Notebooks- ASUS N56VZ

I've sent them e-mail with this question.
As I remember few days ago there was info about only 8 Gb limit on official site.

Real techsupport do not work with us directly. Operators on calls only take your information and sort it, so they'll never help with technical problem.

Asus techsupp (RU) wrote there is a number of mistakes on an official ASUS website and provided the following link: http://www.asusnb.ru/catalog/39/5412, where maximum amount of RAM supported by N56VZ stated as 8 GB.

P.S.: Intel HM76 chipset supports up to 16GB of RAM...

An 8 GB limit is very unlikely, since in France a manifacturer-assembled 16GB version (S4244H) is on the shelves: :)

It can be found on many French e-shops an it seems to me an "original-from-manufacturer" laptop and not an upgraded one (by third-party specialized vendors).

According to an owner, RAM mounted on it is Hynix/Hyundai HMT41GS6MFR8C-PB

Corsair Vengeance RAM is now a risky choice for N56VZ, look at many posts here since a few weeks ago.
I'm waiting to have G.Skill F3-1600C11D-16GSQ for which, until now, I've not heard of any incompatibility.
Keeping my finger crossed ...
