My boyfriend's been having this little problem with his Asus laptop; the Live update bubble keeps popping up and telling him to let it download and install a certain driver, and he did that, but the bubble keeps popping up telling him to install that same driver, even though it's already installed.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this? Thanks! =)

I think I have posted a possible solution on another thread.

Basicaly here's what you can do.

Start -> Run -> "msconfig" -> then click startup and uncheck the live update program, and it won't show up.

But if you want to update your drivers at one point, put back the checkmark and restart the computer and it will show up again.

I repeat (Windows + R) type "msconfig" and click on startup and find the program and uncheck it, and then restart, and you should be good to go. :D

The live update doesnt work and is a system hog. Remove it from your system completely from control panel. You will not need it. Download winflash instead and flash the bios manually every few months.

I agree with Eddie. It doesn't work on my A8JP. Just remove it through the add/remove window.

You can download updates from support.asus.com.

If you register your notebook, you get signed up with VIP status. Not sure what that means, but I've had great email support from them through VIP.
