Asus G752vs or alienware 17 R4 help

    Get AW17 R4, and check temps with hwinfo. If they are good under load (no thermal trottling, idle temps not over 50, max 55) then keep it. Else return it (or repaste it, if you know what you are doing).
    Also, AW has some issues with killer cards, some times, depending on configuration. If you have lag spikes, replace it with an intel WLAN.

    That being said, Dell support trumps Asus support most of the time in my experience at least.
    Asus might be a good hardware specialist, and they do innovative stuff, and usually their parts are of good quality, but any time I had to deal with their support it was really annoying. This applied for Europe, so Canada might be different.

    MSI GT73VR might also be worth a look.

    The GPU only gets up to 76C when it's running Furmark, so that shouldn't be a problem. What will be a problem is the high CPU temps, which reach up to 90C while running prime95. Skylake undervolts pretty well, and a repaste + undervolt should bring the temperatures under 80C.

    Is that like one machine or something? I've literally used GL502VS's that get hotter than that.

    GPU is temp is ok. and it can be a little bit oc.

    thanks all for advise. I'll wait for GDC next week to see some annoncement and pull the trigger for AW17R4 if nothing coming soon.
