Hate to break it to you, you just need to buy a new battery mate.
Here's a good place to start:
www.laptopbatteriesplanet.com - you can search for your battery there or in any other laptop battery sites out there.

    Cheers!

Hello, i have Asus G73jh, and my problem is a little biger then yours, i cannot turn out AC, after this my NB shut down.. So for this I can't do calibration... Its really weird.. After 1.5 years can battery lose 100% capacity? And Everest show me that the battery is still 83% of total capacity. battery_capacity.PNG

The battery LED blinks when there is a problem in the battery circuit, usually it is the battery but it can also be the circuit itself inside the laptop. It can also be a failing AC adapter, but usually the battery charge will just decrease until it gets to 0 and it will be obvious that it's the AC adapter not providing enough power to charge the battery.

If the battery won't power the laptop at all, yet reports a charge, you can either try it in another G73 if you have access to one, or take a gamble with buying a new battery and hope it works... The battery gauge is just a chip on the battery and it can fail too.

Which is why its simplest to start with a flat reset first. It can help remove a lot of the questions. I was fortunate enough to figure that my problem was the battery itself dying. My brother has the same Asus laptop as me (we bought ours within a few days of each other), and he had a brand new battery (had to RMA, sadly) that we knew for sure worked. Quick test and realized it worked just fine. Took a couple of weeks and then just bought a new battery, no issues.

Yeah, there are more than a couple of reasons, but its likely the obvious: dead battery. Oh also, I should mention that mine died within a year and a half, so it absolutely isn't outside the realm of possibility that it can go quickly.

I just tried that site, and it does not list the G73 at all.

I have similar problem related to my G53JW.

My G53JW is a 3 year-old and the battery is always contained in the laptop even when i don't use battery.

Recently, though my battery keeps my laptop powered on just fine, i sometimes (lately more often) i see battery icon is blinkin orange.

I temporarily fix it by removing out the battery and re-inserting.

But after a few days, it happens.

What can i do except calibrating (draining and re-chanrging) battery???

You could replace the battery if you don't want to drain and re-charge it. But probably it's slowly nearing it's life-end.

It's likely that yes as it nears the end of it's life it will trigger the low bat warning.

I did the draining. The battery is now NOT charging due to being below required voltage, which is higher than 14 v. It says charging but in fact no, it's stucked at %5 for 2 hours. What should i do now?

Calibration attempt destroyed my battery, shortly!....

Hello, i have a simmilar (or identical) issue with my Asus R501VB. I know it's not exactly a gaming laptop but the issue seems almost identical:
battery LED flashes orange green almost always after the battery is fully charged. I'm considering sending to service since i have 1 year of warranty left.
