    Till what?

EDIT: Also, anyone know if the Amazon ones are really 1066mhz for the RAM (they're listed as so, but maybes its a typo?), rather than 1333 like the ones sold on xoticpc?

Immunet - FREE Fast Companion Antivirus free for me in-conjunction with any other Av of your choice, which for me personally I'm also using OA++.

Immunet always is the first to pick up anything suspicious seconds before anything else I have used, and it seems to be light on resources.

    Cheers

Both XA1 models suppose to come with 1066 memory, and i think some might come with it, but atm the both G73JW-XA1 came with 1333.

Did you get G53JW-XA1, just wondering, my friend hasn't seen it in stock, so just wondering.

Sorry, I wasn't specific. My G53JW-A1 came with 1333s. Though Amazon's listings say both the XA1 and A1 come with 1066 memory.

A productive week towards acquiring my G53.

I received my shipping notice from GenTech and the parcel has departed the US for Euroland. Fantastic pre-sales support from Ken, definitely a fan of GenTech and will be using them again.

    ** Near term modifications **
Keyboard: Have ordered a UK keyboard from asusparts.eu to swap the US one out. Lead time was about 3 weeks from ordering to shipment. Not too bad considering the CN to SE to UK shipping route. Gentech was kind enough to confirm they would leave the original US keyboard un-taped to make the swap easier.

ODD: Will be swapping the DVD drive to a USB optical enclosure and adding an additional 500GB of storage for a total of 1.75 TB (750GB + 500GB + 500GB). I originally planned for an SSD but my need for additional space for dual booting into my work environment takes precedence. Caddies and enclosure from ebay, 500GB 7200rpm installed by Gentech, and 500GB Scorpio Blue from work (Amazon.co.uk). Eventually will switch to a NAS but the performance is simply too slow for long Kernel compiles.

WIFI: I have a spare Intel 6200 lying around that I will swap the default card for if its not Intel. I need clean driver support under Linux to ease my Kernel work and don't like futzing about with B43 or STA.

Memory: Kindly upgraded to 8GB by GenTech.

    ** Longer term (Maybe) **
CPU: I have a spare 840qm that I may or may not install depending on how far I want to risk things. Perhaps with next years SSD refreshes I will sell this and attempt to pickup a nice and large SSD.

So I think amazon and provantage list the G53's as having 1066mhz memory. Are they both typos then? So it's really 1333 fer shizzle?
