I have been waiting for these to come out for some time now, who else is with me on hyping the release of these netbooks? I want to know if there is more info about these netbooks and what people think about them, and possible release date.

Hmm. How powerful would this be in comparison to, say, the 1215n, in standard and gaming usages?

I'm not all that familiar with the new AMD APU tech. Any place for a quick crashcourse?

Based on a few numbers, the Zacate is better than Intel's current generation mobile graphics solution, and perhaps at least as good as Nvidia's Ion solution (maybe better, some of the benchmarks on the forums here give a better indication of where 3dmark numbers should be for the 9400).

    AMD Radeon HD 6310 - Notebookcheck.net Tech

Benchmarks from Anandtech put the 6310 ahead of Intel HD.

That's as far as I can make out the numbers. Seems decent enough.

if you want something to read, there you go.

I almost got the 1215N, I loved the idea of the thing, but the power plug issues, and bad atom performance and the intentionally gimped pci-express bus killed it for me.

I had a 1215n for a while before I sold it to my brother to replace his crap HP, but while I had it (at stock) it was pretty nice.

But I'm intrigued by these new Zacates. If they offer comparable performance to the 1215n across all usage--games, normal tasks, battery--for a similar price, I'm sold.

I did like the fact that ION2 had dedicated memory, but as it's been mentioned many, many times, teaming it up with an Atom choked it.

yep thats why I have been following them alot, the are comparable to the D525+ION2 combo and then some. I want one of these really bad! I want more info on them though, like release dates for them.

I wonder if this new AMD platform is gonna be overclock-friendly. Overclocking 1215n gives me stable 2.2 GHz with minor issues having 1.8 GHz stock processor, thus increasing gaming FPS and overall perfomance dramatically. If Zacate reaches 2 GHz and has no stupid architecture limitations and buggy drivers (all hail mighty Atom!), then my 1215n is going to leave my loving hands.

It's still an atom processor. My 1.2 ghz su2300 CULV is still way faster than my n270 oc'd to 2.1ghz.

    Just saying.

Couple days past CES, and still nothing new. Sigh. If this thing performs as well as I'm thinking it should, I'm very excited indeed.
