    morning from germany,

    does anyone have a guide??? we have to replace the cmos battery and cannot plug the new one. hope there is one trick. :D

    Hi schreto, can you post a pic of what the cmos battery looks like in the k70IC?

    Edit: here are two pics of k70 series mobos that I found on ebay. It looks pretty standard, just press the metal tab on the side with a flathead screwdriver and it will release the battery.

    hi allurgroceries,

    from the cmos battery or from motherboard where we have to replace it??? think the replacement is the problem as we do not know how to plug the new one (ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting. we cannot remove the old connector from the board.

    yes, thats correct. the connector is under the "bridge" named 1207 in the second pic (left side down). and we do not know how to dissamble this "plastic bridge" to unplug the connector.

    You may have to remove the mainboard from the chassis if it is obstructed.

    If you don't want to do that, as long as you are sure you have the right battery, you can cut the wires on the old one, cut off the connector on the new one, and splice the wires together.
