    I have an Aspire 6935G.

I've read that Aspire 8930G had different versions of motherboard.
    MB.ASZ0B.001, MB.ASZ0B.002, MB.ASZ0B.003, MB.ASZ0B.004.
Of which only MB.ASZ0B.004 could support Quad Core and 8GB RAM.

Did Aspire 6935G also had different versions of motherboard, of which some can support 6GB RAM and others 8 GB RAM?

Acer 6935 series has two motherboards - one for 6935 with integrated graphics and one for 6935G for dedicated graphics.
So there is nothing to check for you - yours is 002

    I see.

So "DISCRETE" in motherboard description is about graphics?
