    Thanks Phil,, i consolidated the 2 aspire 5315 threads (or thier main info into the STEP BY STEP upgrade thread....)

    now to tidy up the LINKS to other threads...
    and embed some real PICs... now that i have a manual for my Camera i plan on adding PICs into some of the steps of the upgrade

    i need to PM Krazy about "borrowing his ACER logo" from his sticky

    Hi guys, new here.

    Am I correct in my assumption that this socket requires modification to take a C2D? If so would anyone be willing to give me details on how to complete the mod?

    Thanks.

    EDIT::

    NO SOCKET MODIFICATION NEEDED...

    i have been looking at the wrong CPU... SocketP CPUs have the 2 pins on the bottom row missing

    Grrrr bloody forum restrictions.......anyway, we have had this 5315 since Nov and it's been ok...well, acceptable.........

    I am running Vista Ultimate (32 obviously) and it's just a bit painful at times when running the full aero.

    Plan is to drop in a T7500, 2GB Low Latency RAM and a 250GB HDD, would also like to add Bluetooth but I haven't got a clue where to start with that.

    email recieved, tyvm.......will read with a cup of coco, it's 3am here in the UK!
