I have an Aspire 5315 ICL50 which came with a Celeron 530. I've just upgraded to a core 2 duo 7250 SLA49. All went smoothly. Everest reported a GL960 chipset and everything else a 965 express family chipset. Everest still reports a GL960 chipset. Upgraded BIOS to 1.45 before changing the chip.
Thanks to the info from this site.

Guys I finally got a hold of a T7300 on ebay for pretty reasonable. It hasnt arrived yet but after looking at the ebay ad more I realize its a T7300 ES (Enhanced Speedstep). Still a Merom and socket P but I wonder if the ES means its better than a regular ol T7300??

Has anybody else installed a Txxxx with the ES designation into their 5315?

Freaking out a little here!! Hope I bought the right one...

ES indeed means Engineering Sample(what does it mean?) but why would it mean its been used a a lot? I don't get it:confused:

@michacerboy Most likely it will work.
