Aspire 5315 CPU Step-by-Step Upgrade Guide

    holyandrei, Regarding the T5500, this CPU is apparently available in two socket types, M and P..... if you get a P, yes it will work.

    killerrabbit775, if you mean 5315(the focus of this thread) then the T8300 is a yes... if 4315 which seems to be very similar... not sure, but I suspect it will work.

    hi to all, i want to upgrade my 5315 with T7500 and i have buy a used one and i instal it as you said but when i start there is only a black scren and onl a flash on the laptop. what is the reason, maybe the cpu is not woking! sorry for my english im from turkey, thanks in advance for your help

    T7500 should work fine so either you've got a bad CPU or you just need to update your BIOS.

    My BIOS is 1.43, on the cpu stats LF80537 T7500 SLAF8, 2.2/4/800 is this the right cpu and hov can i identify p or m cpu.

    T7500 SLAF8 is a socket P CPU which means it is supported by your laptop. BIOS v1.43 is fine, you don't need to update it. So I really don't know what the problem is here, the only thing I can think of is faulty CPU but I guess it might be something else............

    Ensure you've mounted the CPU correctly, try to remove it and put it back, make sure you've "locked" the socket too...

    i have start CPU-Z and the information are: MAINBOARD GL960 AND PROCESSOR is INTEL CELERON M 530, SOCKET 479 MPGA; is this the same processor

    Try to see again the screw in processor socket , maybe need to turn more with a screwdriver.

    as i know you said socket p but here state socket m?

    i do every thing but i have only black scren, ı screw the socket but nothing, when i put my old processor it works.....

    Where did you see that the Celeron you have is a socket M? Link please.

    This is just not possible because ALL Aspire 5315 use socket P CPUs..
