I've just discovered my Step-Up (for my desktop GPU) expires on the same day Alienware's new line-up is due to launch. Feck.

I personally don't really care about thickness at all really. Maybe in 14" and below type stuff, but 17"? It's the size of a big bread board. Making it 1" thick instead of 1.5" thick isn't going to change that. It'll still be a massive thing to lug around. I'd rather see a thicker laptop with better speakers, or more cooling, than a thin laptop. Given that the XPS 17 (replacement, that isn't nearly as good as the older model) comes with a 650M, it's not like it's a slouch in games to begin with anyway. Just get that.

Actually there are 2 Threads now in the German Forum:
    1. is about the new m14x:
    - The new M14x is able to provide enough Cooling for a yet not released Geforce Titan M
    - It will be much more cooler, since he redesigned the whole chassis and haswell has many Components, which were normaly on the
    Mainboard, in the CPU
    - the internals are not exchangable, all will be fixed.

    2. is about the new M17x
    - the new M17x starting GPU is a GTX780m
    - the chassis will be like the R1/R2 in full magnesium alloy again
    - there are plans for dual GPU support again
    - the m18x is likely dead (sold not very good)

the other stuff relating to the m14x or m17x is already been posted... Ah and there will be a new M15x again :) its like the m14x but with exchangable internals (like the m17x now: GPU, battery.....)

Bull. There's no way in hell the base model will come with a 780M. Not unless Dell thinks a laptop starting price of $2,500 is a good idea. Also, there's no way the M14x will be able to suddenly dissipate 130W of heat, when the last generation could only handle 65W. Really? And M15x, as well as an M14x? LOL

I call troll, or someone very naive.

So the M14x is going to have a GPU based on one of the fastest production desktop GPU's fixed into it but the M15x is going to have exchangable GPU's? That makes absolutely no sence.

And +1 on the 780m being base GPU a load of hogwash... everyone knows the 8970m will be the base and the 780m will have a $1000 premium slapped on it.
