Are there an fan speed programs that work with the XPS 16?

    I have the xps 1640 with the ati 4670 gpu. Lately it's been getting really warm, and I'm wondering if there's a way to speed the fan up.

    Maybe you should clean out the fan? There could be some dust.

    I wouldn't mind some fan controlling software too. SpeedFan is a nightmare and just ends up crashing.

    From the research I've done, I don't think there is a fan control program. There are a few fan control programs, but they don't work with the majority of laptops.

    Can anyone plz tell me with the lappy picture that where the hell is fan located and from where the dust needs to be cleaned ?

    You can use MSI AfterBurner 1.60 and above to change the fan speed, I set it to run@80%...

    MSI afterburner doesn't seem to be working for me. Am I missing a step to make it work?
