If I was using Mac this would be a no brainer. However, I'm not. Ms still rules the roost here. Apple needs to make a 2 in 1 Macbook with pencil and touch bar and also support all online platforms like wix etc, then I am in.

I was at the store the other day trying a new mbp 13. I love the trackpad, screen, and overall size. I don't like the touch bar as a touchscreen replacement and not having a full touchscreen is really dumb in 2020

LOL! I must be old school. When picking new laptops for myself, friends and family, I go out of my way to find models that do NOT have a touchscreen. For 2-way (2-in-1's), tablets and phones, it's fine but for computers with keyboards, fuhgetaboutit

I have a 24 inch touchscreen in my office which I use very regularly. My dell 2 in 1 is used via touch every day. Not having touchscreen is weird to me now.

I wouldn't be surprised if opinions vary greatly on this feature used on a computer (to reiterate a laptop or desktop computer - not a 2-in-1, tablet, phone or other hand-held device). Another gotcha is having to clean greasy or dirty smudges from a panel all day long when using the computer primarily with keyboard and mouse.

You clean smudges and greasey mitt prints from your phone and tablet so that argument is moot. I use my touchscreens daily and would never purchase any computer without it. The surface studio is my dream desktop. So much potential for my work and creativity.

LIke I said. Opinions are most likely going to vary. And I think this thread is delving into personal hygiene now. I clean my phone about once every 2 to 3 weeks. Just use the voice interface, and don't touch it too much. Maybe wipe it on my pants if needed. iPad is a bit of a different story.

In regards to my computer's Apple Cinema display. Never touch it, so wouldn't have to clean it except to run a swiffer over the LCD to get any dust. Rather like it staying clean / crisp for editing code, icons, docs, databases, pics, watching videos or using the webcam day in and day out.

Like I said, I use my touchscreens daily and they are never greasy, smudgy or anything else. I could not have a computer without it. I tried the Macbook pro with touch bar for 30 mins or so at the store and I tried to use the touch screen to do thing about a dozen times. The crappy thing is the Macbook don't have one.
