While this comes as no surprise to most people, there's no way most people would even consider buying a $1000+ smartphone, it seems to be a shocking revelation to Apple and Samsung. Same goes for the $1000+ tablets, who in their right mind puts out that much cash for a flimsy easy to crunch device? Those of us that can afford it and want the latest tech have mis-trained the makers to expect growth in this segment, but I can't see supporting it any longer myself.

Of course people don't want those, especially with gimmick features or ugly notches in display. Plus OnePlus can sell people awesome smartphone with large display without notches and huge amount of RAM for around $700 (8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage) all it misses is a wireless charging but many people do not care about it.

There are even cheaper smartphones that do more than enough for $250-$400 - probably even less soon.

I know I don't want to spend more than $250 on a smartphone...even less would be nice.

My Samsung S7 Edge is going to need to last me a long time. ;)
