While this comes as no surprise to most people, there's no way most people would even consider buying a $1000+ smartphone, it seems to be a shocking revelation to Apple and Samsung. Same goes for the $1000+ tablets, who in their right mind puts out that much cash for a flimsy easy to crunch device? Those of us that can afford it and want the latest tech have mis-trained the makers to expect growth in this segment, but I can't see supporting it any longer myself.

    • Apple’s iPhone revenue was down year over year.
    • Samsung said sales of its Galaxy S10 were weak during its second quarter.
    • People aren’t buying expensive phones and are upgrading at a slower pace.

Of course people don't want those, especially with gimmick features or ugly notches in display. Plus OnePlus can sell people awesome smartphone with large display without notches and huge amount of RAM for around $700 (8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage) all it misses is a wireless charging but many people do not care about it.

There are even cheaper smartphones that do more than enough for $250-$400 - probably even less soon.

I know I don't want to spend more than $250 on a smartphone...even less would be nice.

My Samsung S7 Edge is going to need to last me a long time. ;)

I hope they keep doing the flexible screens, though i would not pay more than £$800 for one.

There's innovation but its too much pricey. I'd recommend 11 Pro Max 64GB to be priced at 800$(Yeah 64GB f*** small space which is like 200$ phone from Android World!) Yeah its pricier than my AW BGA!

I just want a big phone (big in surface area, not diagonal measurement, which is all but meaningless) with a big, replaceable battery and an armored (Otterbox Defender type) case. I don't care about thin, elegant, what have you. I basically want a reasonably priced brick of a phone that I can keep for another 5 years. My Galaxy Note 2 is just getting a bit long in the tooth, being limited to Android 4.4.

OnePlus. The shadiest of shady companies. They have been found to be less than “savoury” with their customers data, information and credit card information. I would not take a 1plus phone if they paid me.
