    I recently unlocked my Aorus X7 V6, because i bought a corsair DDR4 3000mhz ram.
But Aorus does not support XMP. So, i use programmer to unlock the bios feature.
    I successfully unlocked it.
but aorus x7 does not support ram over 2666mhz at all. and ram voltage is fixed at 1.2V (there's a setting you can change. but after you save setting. it will back to 1.2V). The original G.skill 2400mhz ram can overclock to 2666MHZ (16-17-17-37) 1.2V stable.

If the board doesn't support it then there isn't much you can do to be honest. Also there is no difference between 2666mhzand 3ghz.

actully the bios seems support up to 3200mhz. because there's a option can choose max memory frequency.
but i think that the EC or something limmited it to 2666mhz .

Just because the option is there doesn't mean it inherently supports it, especially when you needed to unlock it first in order to get it. I sadly do not have that much experience with RAM overclock, I think @Mr. Fox could be your best bet here, he did do a lot of notebook overclocking. Maybe he can guide you through and tell you more about your limits and what you need to look at.

Can you list the specific equipment used and the steps taken please?

And are there any other benefits to the unlock?

    Thanks.

    1. use programer with chip clip read bios and make a backup
    2. use amibcp to unlock the feature you want. and save it.
    3. use programer flash the unlocked bios you made.

    for now :
the only benefit is able to overclock memory.

overclock CPU in bios is not working. (i don't know why)
the best way to overclock CPU is using Aorus software and make your own XTU overclock profile to replace the orginal Aorus software profile . the profile will auto apply when windows boot up.

i will install Hackintosh later. So, the configurable CSM might be useful.

Does it provide option to toggle the various sleep states (s0-s5)?
