How bout knock out your own review for potential X5 owners here? It will be a great help and also a good base for those who already have the X5 to compare temps, noise, overclocks etc etc. Just a suggestion :))

What about the X5 V6 G-Sync version, is that also plagued by the same screen problems as the bigger 17"?

So far the issue is only seen on the 17.3'' AUO screen. No word on the 15'' screen yet

Just unpacked my seriously delayed Alienware 17 R4 (which is supposed to have the same LCD panel) and immediately noticed the striping issue. And this was even on the black loading BIOS screen without my computer glasses. As someone said before, this kind of reminds me of monitors from 20 years ago. Anyone not noticing this should probably have their vision checked :D

So, we have the same problem with Alienware and Aorus then, that the only way to get a 1080 (or in Aorus case a 17") is to also get G Sync (which is meaningless for me on a small 17"), poor battery life (due to no optimus because of GSync) and striping issues. Has the world gone mad??

It gets loud but the laptop speakers manage to mask it out. Recommend headphones definitely

I saw someone plug a old version of Alienware laptop's 330w power adapter into the X7DTv6 and it worked better than the 230w that gigabyte provides
