Like I stated, it's like a replacement for a 3 row SUV...get the seating of a 3rd row SUV, trunk space of a super duty, that's what I'm looking for.

Oh, OK then. Whatever you say.

Modifying a long bed to add the third row will cost an arm and a leg more than modifying a shortbed though. Simply when they add the extra row and extend the cab, the builder can sometimes use the drivetrain and frame parts from a long bed model to account for the extra length in the short bed they added. It's a lot cheaper than ordering a custom driveshaft and modding the vehicle frame by hand.

Okay so cheapest RAM 1500 with a crew cab, 4WD, long bed, turbodiesel (3.0L V6) and a basic locking differential is like 38k, which is cheaper than going for any superduty with the same options (50k+). It's only a 3300 dollar option to add the turbo diesel (really 2800 and 500 for the 8 speed automatic transmission).

Wow prices have went up. In 2008 we got a cummins 3500 mega cab for 38k. We had a quad cab short bed lined up for even cheaper than that, but the dealer screwed us around on giving us the title so we didn't purchase it.

Yeah heavy duty trucks have exploded in the past few years, cheapest turbodiesel 4WD crew cab truck is like 45k.

My girlfriend's stepdad had a 2500HD with the 8.1L V8, 4WD, 6 spd manual and crew cab for like 28k new. Didn't know heavy duty trucks were that cheap..

Wow that's expensive. But then again, I paid that price for my 2006 Tacoma.
