    $2000

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?
    a. Netbook; 10” screen or less
    b. Ultraportable; 11" - 12” screen
    c. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
    d. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
    e. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen

    Mostly aiming toward 13-15" screen

    3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.

    Doesn't matter where it was obtained, I'm from USA.

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?

    No, must be brand-new.

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

    AutoCad, MS Office, and Casual Gaming.

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?

    Moving from place to place, thus ultraportable.

    "College Student, taking their laptop to class."


    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?

    Valve games, Half-Life 2, Portal, Crysis, World of Tanks, etc (Most games I play are from 2002-2010.



    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?

    At least 6 hours under normal workload (Typing, youtubing)

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?

    Pictures and names.

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (Windows 7 / 8), Mac OS, Linux, etc.

    Does not matter, prefers Windows 8 to utilize touchscreen.

    Currently looking for laptops with the following screen resolutions:

    2540x1440
    2560x1600
    3200x1800


    13) Do you want a Glossy/reflective screen or a Matte/non-glossy screen?

    Does not matter, any is fine.

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?

    No, wanted to know all available laptops.

    15) When are you buying this laptop?

    Christmas

    16) How long do you want this laptop to last?

    At least 5 years since I'm still on my Dell Inspiron 1520.

    Notebook Components

    17) How much hard drive space do you need? Do you want a SSD drive?

    At least 500GB Harddrive or 256GB SSD

    Finding laptop with both seems really nice.


    18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner?

    No I do not.

    5 days later, seriously can't anyone help me? Can't we all make a MASSIVE list of those laptops that offers those screen resolutions.

    Fine I'll start with what I have right now.

    Dell XPS (Haswell) 15 IZGO = 3200x1800 15.6 inch

    Macbook Pro Retina 15 = 2880x1800 15.4 inch

    HP Envy 14 = 3200x1800 14 inch

    Samsung ATIV Book 9 plus = 3200x1800 13.3 inch

    Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 = 3200x1800 13.3 inch

    Fujitsu LifeBook U904 = IZGO 3200x1800 13.3 inch

    Macbook Pro Retina 13 = 2560x1600 13.3 inch

    Hp Spectre 13t-3000 = 2560x1440 13.3 inch

    Asus Zenbook Infinity UX301LA = 2560x1440 13.3 inch

    Dell XPS 11 = 2560x1440 11.6 inch

    Now, it's your turn. Please help me.

    Thank you guys, I didn't know that there were another topic about extremely high PPI laptops. Apparently I didn't look in the hardware section.

    That Lenovo W540 looks really interesting.

    The thread was a few pages back too, don't worry about it. High PPI and 6 hours plus kinda limits your options, I know the M3800 with the larger battery (you sacrifice the 2.5" drive for it) will net you that. I don't really know about the others.

    I know the Clevo w230ss (13") comes in 3 different resolution:
    1920x1080
    2560x1440
    3200x1800

    seems a bit high for a 13", but if that's what you're looking for...

    Far too small, I'm looking for 17" or 18.4" high res laptops, to use as mobile workstation, since my current 1920x1200 8710w is dying.
