I am using Adobe Premiere Elements 2020.

When I take a video in portrait mode, after importing it into Adobe Premiere, it looks straight (not sideways) which is what I want and perfectly scaled

but after adding some audio to it then trying to export it, it looks like this when played on an iPhone or Android:

Hi spartan, I occasionally use Adobe Premiere and Davinci, I havent tried Premiere Elements, but it seems that either the resolution of the project or resolution of the export is not setup correctly. You need to set the project resolution to a 1080x1920 so that it would output a portrait video, not a landscape video that you had done.

I use resolve. I was going to say the same thing. The resolution of the project is not set correctly. Have a look and see what its set at.

Yep better to try something else, I use Davinci when I teach others, its easy to learn, and its free.

Totally, especially for beginners, it is better than Premiere Pro. I always give resolve for people who are new to video editing on a pc/laptop
