I have switched to Avast Antivirus Pro myself because it is the only Antivirus which allows me to custom install it with no additional components such as HTTP Scanner or other stuff, all I want is a good file scanner which it allows me to do via the custom install and it's super light on the system.

More details to come on my impressions about Avast

Did I get into different timeline after I woke up? I thought you had ESET AV.
You should try Kaspersky Free AV or security Cloud which flies even on 8 year old machine with superb detection which had Avast Free installed and Quarantined malwares were getting out its jail and infecting the PC and slowing it down.
In case you want paranoid protection using Avast try this link https://rejzor.wordpress.com/avast-protection-tweaks/

I have a license for Kaspersky AV actually. It is very heavy, files in my software folder load in slow motion, I also don't like that you have to dig too deep into its setting just to enable PUP detections and I despite its browser extension and most of all hate that it automatically installs a VPN for you (powered by Hotspot Shield)

Avast was the winner of the show you are comparing the wrong products bro

Avast has a free version which is just as good but you have to do a custom install as I mentioned in the post above this.

    download Avast Free

@Vasudev I have a license for NOD32 as you know but its HTTP scanner is messing up my VPN (Express VPN) and slows down my browsing a bit. Avast is GOLD! Doesn't affect my internet or VPN, has no false positives, and super duper light. you just have to be careful and choose custom install and uncheck the bloatware like Secure VPN, Cleanup, Safe Browser, etc and just keep the essentials

FP and HTTPS scanner is a plus though it updates silently and installs all bloatware, so I switched my HTTP scanner to cloud addon from Bitdefender on browser. I got a 6 months license from BD for free for reporting a bug and installed it on my sister's laptop (not a taptop though) and it was slow as hell. Removed it and switched to WD. I might try Kaspersky Free because her knowledge related to web security is very low, I mean very low.
