Hi, does anyone already has a new alienware m17 models (2060 or 2070 max-q) ? Have seen some gaming tests - the initial components temperatures are ok in average but what is the situation on latop surface and noise?

Previously i've had couple of thin and powerful laptops and they were hot and loud as hell making games hardly bearable to play after 15-20 minutes... Thanks!

Sad fact is almost all thin and light gaming laptops are a throttling mess.

You will have to undervolt and repaste. Also don't overclock it. My friend M17 r1's mojo has been replaced twice in just 8 months. He cries every night.

Why do you want a thin and light? get a proper laptop which has better cooling like the Area-51m or MSI GT75/GT76. Even the MSI GS75 is a better choice if you want thin and light.

    I'm still rocking my 7-yo m17x r4 and 5-yo 17 r1 Ranger. Best Alienwares.

AW stopped used to have great laptops across the board now you have much cheaper and better options.
Sad to see the quality go down hill for the last couple of years.

Well, what I don't understand is why they solder everything and limit the ram to 16 GB. Some games already use 10 GB.

The 51m looks awesome. But not sure if they have fixed the burning issue.

That’s part of the disappointing bad trend they seem to be on now, yes the 51m does look awesome but I couldn’t get over the fact about the 2 power brick thing .
I know they are not the only company to use that set up but I still think it’s dumb.
