Here's some more subjective and qualitative info on the battery:

I unboxed my m11xr3 yesterday around 4pm. Turned it on and started setting up windows and I think the battery was around 80%.

The battery lasted till about 10 pm. I wasn't using it nonstop but I did install lots of programs (office 10, iTunes, avg Internet security, etc) as well as messed with the alienfx for about an hour. Also played some music for about 30 mins.

It was prolly idle for about two of those hours, but making it that long on the stock charge is pretty good IMO.

Battery life sounds good so far. Anybody have any times on recharging?

My initial impressions are good. The build quality is sound, and the system performs well. However, I'm having some dissapointing technical issues (detailed in the sticky thread in this forum).

Are the hinges perfectly solid without any creaking sound and lid closes firmly w/o any spaces?

I got mine this morning; hinges feel great. No spaces, no creaking or anything.

My hinges are fine. No sound whatsoever and feels very smooth when I open or close the laptop

No problem at all! anything I can do to help. From previous posts, I guess we established the battery life is decent.

The screen as far as I can tell is comparable to R1 and R2. If I were to tell you I can tell which one was better or worse I would be lying. Is it terrible? not at all :) Also yea.. I'm sure it would look worse compare with your xps 16 as it is compare to my macbook pro but we know that going in :)

It's all good bro, we have our differences and can agree to disagree :)

As for the fan noise. It is louder than R2's @ max level and I would much prefer it be on the same level as R2. However with faster CPU, faster RAM and a video card that is faster and double the video memory I guess I wouldn't want the machine to fry. Even though I would hope it can be quieter while taxed, I guess that's what my razer headphone is for.

Other people that received the machine, feel free to chime in on the fan noise :)
