So I got this graphics amp when I had my Alienware m15 but never opened the box and now I'm trying to sell it here locally in Dubai.

A guy just called me and he asked me 2 questions which I couldn't answer, can someone with hands on experience with this graphics amp shed some light on this?

    1) Does the Alienware Graphics amp work with other laptops that sport a Thunderbolt 3 port or is it only for Alienware laptops?

    2) I don't know what PSU does it come with the box but he was asking me, would it be able to power a Radeon RX 470 Graphics card or would the PSU not be able to supply sufficient power to his graphics card?

I believe it comes with a 460w power supply which shouldn't have any issues powering just about any GPU out there. Sadly it connects via the graphics amplifier port and not via Thunderbolt 3, so it will only work on AW laptops.

    1) It will ONLY work with alienware laptops or desktop that has the amplifier port.

    2) I think it was 460W or so. Either way, the PSU has 2x 8-pin power connectors so cards up to 375W are supported. RTX 2080Ti/Titan and AMD Radeon VII level cards work fine out of the box. I am using Radeon VII

1.) It uses the Caldera connector, not the TB3 port. It might be possible to rewire it for TB3, but lets just say it supports the AGA port only.

2.) Above^ It supports up to ~Radeon 7 level of cards which consume more power than my entire desktop lol, should be fine with a RX 470

Not possible to rewire it either. It is basically a shrinked PCI express port.

TB3 is so bad for exgpu. AGA FTW. The proper way to channel the gpu data
