Comparing to R1/R2 heatsinks look weaker for GPU, motherboard looks well redesigned, less user friendly access to components as wifi/wihd etc....

I feel R3 whole monitor assy can be mounted to R2 if measurements are same :D

It could fit, but it will look very very odd. I personally don't like the new LCD panel. Its to big to have that tiny details.

I wonder if they will finally include water cooling.

Ah yeah I just realized now I see the LCD has sooo fat bezel .... best mod if the R3 IPS 18.4 panel can be made fit to R2/R1 ...

Isnt it really strange to have the heat pipes above the heat sinks? I think this is just concept renderings. If this was the final design it would mean the keyboard would be right above the heat pipes. not good and doesnt make thermal sense

Palmrest or no, the keyboard is still going to probably get pretty warm. On my m17x R2, you have fan, cards above, heatsinks over cards, heatpipes over heatsinks, and keyboard over the rest.
Even at GPU temp of 55C, the keyboard gets hot. I hope for you guys' sake this is better designed :)

why Alienware doesn't do anything about noise can't get it. They should hire some engineer to solve that airbus a320 fan noise problem.

I don't know about that...looks like this comes apart like a macbook pro. And we dont even have to take the monitor off. Another plus...

^^ to me looks like it may not represent how it actually goes apart, its computer graphical CAD design kinda thing, so it not necessarily means it is what it is, just the motherboard I think represents most of the true in the picture

Yeah, because if it were a 'real life' image, we would see the silver shafts of the display mounts in the square holes close to the left gpu and end of the cpu pipes....as for mounting an R3 panel on an R2 chassis, it might or might not physically work. It certainly would be very difficult to connect it all up because the cables etc are different. WideZu and AW MarkO were discussing this in one of the other new threads - pretty much said that it would not be compatible because of this. :(

i love the way alienware design their fan system, it is very easy to maintain, cleanup E.T.C . Had a XPS dureing the old days when AW wasnt Dells, and the fan system on those where horrible to just clean up
