i just received a 4930mx cpu which i ordered a feed days back and i did the upgrade from 4910qm . but once i start the machine it keeps the black screen with 7 beeps! i did the installation twice with the same results.
i have the unlocked A12 bios and before i performed the upgrade i set all the values on bios to the default.
any idea what could be the issue ?
could be a bios upgrade issue ?
could be a faulty CPU ?
the motherboard is working since once i installed my old CPU all working fine.

Try the old cpu. If it has the same 7 beeps, the motherboard is toast.

If the old cpu works , the 4930 is toast,

    i did
thats what i mentioned above that my old cpu works just fine but the new one doesn't . i tried 5 times and every time is the same for the 4930mx . i thought maybe there is something i'm missing.
maybe the volt or the current drew of the 4930mx is a bit higher or something like that

4930mx is most likely toast if your old 4910qm works fine but to be sure remove the main battery and CMOS battery and hold power for 30-40 seconds to give it a full, righteous reset and then try the 4930mx
one more time to be sure.

Also post a good pic of the 4930mx top and especially the pins on the bottom.

Yeah, then the chip is defective and that chunk isn't supposed to be there. I'd return it asap. Was it an eBay purchase?

I will do that. No its from aliexpress.

Quick question though, since I'm gonna return this . Shall I go with the 4940MX SR1PP or 4940MX QDQH ? Ir shall I stick with the 4930mx. ( I'm going to overclock it to the max.)
I know that the 4930mx is more stable but is the QDQH is more stable ? And do u have any idea the difference between them since I searched alot and all I could find is that the QD is the one they sent for reviews .. is that true ?

from what @Papusan told me, the 4930MX overclocks way better than the 4940MX. I had the 4940MX on my previous Alienware 18 and it couldn't even do 4 GHz on all cores stable.

thats really good to know . the only thing that some says that the ES version is more stable then the SR1PP (which i could be wrong )
the sad thing is that i have the M18x R1 with the 2960xm and its stable as rock at 4.4GHZ !!
