    Hi!

To the owners of alienware 17 (2014) with 120hz screen and 980m on windows 10. Did you try the lastest nvidia driver 372.70 ( v372.70_Win10_PEG_Dedicated_Alienware J95 modded inf )?

Is it stable on our machine? Is there no problem so far you have use it (throttling, lcd brick, etc...)?

And what is this hibernation method for throttling problems, do we need to use it for our AW17?

PS: I'm actually using the 369 drivers.

Is the LCD bricking more of a concern with the upgraded GPU's?

    Edited :
@XGIII Why are you worried about bricking when you have the eDP 120Hz but be careful with the EVGA Precision X & MSI AB - Use HWInfo and NVInspector for OCing and Monitoring, Other than that you are good to go, Use old EVGA Precision X from that post by Mr. Fox If you want and that should work with the 9xx GPUs.

Also iirc the effected machines were on Win10 but later some cases emerged on machine even with Win7 but using the EVGA PX/ MSIAB but no conformation on this matter, Sorry that's from my vague memory of the posts that I came across..

Not I guess, It's more of the WinX and Precision X at work, But the TH2 and RS1 WinX should be alright Also the eDPs are safer over LVDS when using the Precision X.

Also this thread is there, Read last pages for some much more info maybe ?

Untagged Mr. Fox seems like we have everything there at that thread.

More Info here - Some Excerpts from that search, covers the MSI AB.
