I live in Europe and my friend is going to NY at the end of April. Since laptops are so much cheaper there, I will have him buy one from there and bring it back. Unfortunately that means that i will be rolling the dice on the quality and not being able to change it if the display is ****/anything else is bleh. He will check for minor stuff if he has time, but he is there on business trip and i can't ask too much.

I am looking for a premium laptop that can game well and also have life in the battery that will last when not plugged in. As a list of what i am looking for, i guess this is it in order:
    Battery (optimus is needed)
    Performance
Display (IPS, good color quality, high refresh, good brightness, etc.)
    Build quality
Ports (ethernet and thunderbolt are a must)

So far (after watching/reading many reviews) i have managed to narrow it down to the aero15 (1060 or 1070)/gs65, mainly depending on what the offers will be when the time comes, since money is hard to come by and i will be picking the lowest priced one (hope newegg or amazon throws a huge discount and still has them in stock).

I am mainly looking at the aero15, even though so far the GS65 is the lowest on microsoft store at 1485$. Which one should i choose/are there any better options? Looked at the triton 500 as well but don't know if it has optimus for battery life.
HIDevolution has some nice options for repasting but everything there is so expensive
Is there anything else i should be aware of in regards to these laptops (negatives)?

    1) What is your budget?
    1900$ max

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

Metro Exodus, WoW, Overwatch, CS GO

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
As many as possible for browsing/school stuff; min of 5 hours

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
I would like to see them irl, but I can only do that with the GS 65

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Chrome OS, etc.
Windows 7, maybe W10 LTSC (no bloated crap), maybe linux
    Screen Specifics

    1080

    13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen? (See further below for explanations.)
Doesn't matter, whichever is best for color/brightness/etc.

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
As long as they don't look gamer style

    Notebook Components

    Timing, Warranty and Longevity

    16) When are you buying this laptop?

    17) How long do you expect to use this laptop?
For as long as i can drain the life out of it

    18) How long could you afford to do without your laptop if it were to fail?
I wouldn't be able to since i am selling my desktop

    19) Would you be willing to pay significantly extra for on-site warranty, or would it be acceptable to you to have to ship the laptop to the vendor for repair with perhaps a week or more outage?
Not really, since I will have it brought from another continent

GS65 hands down is the best of those. Better screen, keyboard, and looks the best of em all with its sleek design.

I'm in agreement the MSI GS65 Stealth is hard to beat. The Acer Predator Triton notebooks have pretty mediocre battery life.

With the triton 500 (that has the rtx2060) i found out they put optimus, and while it wasn't on par with the others mentioned in regards to battery, it does usually have the same price or better compared to 1060-1070 gs/aero..mostly why i was considering it

would the gs65 do better with backlight bleed and other panel problems considering it is not ips?

Backlight bleeding is a matter of luck to be honest. Some panels/models have it more than others and some don't have backlight bleeding at all. Some resellers offer you to pay a small fee so they can pick the best panel for you out of what they have. Worth every penny in my opinion as I am OCD about such things.

Just had some priorities shift today and unexpected expenses, which probably will make my budget go down to a max of 1500$ (unless i manage to get it up again by end of April)

Can i still hope for some of these laptops/something similar with a cap of 1500$?
