When I'm on battery it's fixing the cpu speed at a low level (0,8ghz (8 x 100) or 1,7ghz (17 x 100)). I have checked the powerplan and it's set for high performance, with minimum processor speed of 80% and maximum 100%. I've checked with AIDA and it's not throttling either. So I can only conclude it's bios based. You buy a hell of a machine and they cap you at a low speed clock when on battery. If I wanted a desktop, stuck on AC, I would buy a desktop.

What is your fan profile set to in gigabyte control panel? Sounds like it is set to quiet to me.

So mine is also limiting the CPU to a limit of 20W (runs at 2.1GHz all core under Prime95 for me) when I boot with the smart fan controller set to quiet. Even if I switch to normal or gaming it doesn't fix the limitation until I restart. After restarting with the fan profile in normal I am able to hit max boost clocks under Prime95 without issue.

Are you running throttle stop or XTU? Perhaps your speed shift settings are limited?

You can also use throttle stop to disable and lock turbo power limits if you can't find another way around it.

I wouldn't think your X9 would be much different than my V8.
