Hi all... I'm on the same boat.. Expecting to receive this laptop on Wednesday. I already have my Windows 10 USB ready for a clean install... after which I wonder what should I install from the Gigabyte support download section? the drivers and Gigabyte's Smart Manager only? (at least that's what I've read searching around)... perhaps the Elan drivers for getting a better touchpad too...

I'll be happy to hear from you guys.... Thanks...

Kinda hesitating to buy the new v8 aero.

I feel like they'll release an upgrade later this year with new GPUs.

Could also try liquid metal and slight overclocking on the GPU clock maybe? Doesn't sound like a great idea though.

    Hey Carlos,

I would advice to install the following drivers from smart update, and let windows install all the other drivers (blue highlighted), good luck!:

I have a few 1mm arctic thermal pads left over. Is there a meaningful way to use them for the 15xv8 except for a new m.2 ssd?

Thanks!!! this is what I was looking for!

One other question.. I plan on repasting after first getting a readout of the default thermals.... (No LM for me, yet!?!)... for disconnecting the battery from the board (I guess this is step #1), do I need to take the whole battery out? I have found several videos of the current Aero 15 model, but I can't seem to get a clear perspective about this....

    Best regards,

    Carlos

I am just curious that why you want to reinstall the new clean windows?

Are these Gigabyte bloatwares really such annoyed or slow down the system?

No, there is not really that much gigabyte bloatware, and windows on these devices are pretty clean.
For me it felt that the clean windows was a little less sluggish and buggy than the pre-installed windows. But the difference wasn't a lot.
I personally just like a clean installed version, something that is mentally-satisfying I think. :D

Quick question, is there a noticeable difference between windows 10 pro and the regular version on this laptop ? I got offered a clean install option from HIDevolution, but just found I had a copy of Windows 10
