    1) What is your budget?

    £2,500 – E3,000 – USD 3,500

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

    D but will consider E

(Why is there no B option here?)

    a. Ultraportable; 10" - 12" screen
    c. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
    d. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
    e. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen

    3) Which country will you buying this notebook?

UK only as import charges suck.

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

    a. Like: Clevo/Sager, Gigabyte, Asus
    b. Dislike: MSI (go on tell me you’re surprised)

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? (If so, please state which games or types of games?)

    FPS, flight sims, racers.

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?

    Some. More than Intel provides.

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Chrome OS, etc.

    Screen Specifics

    12) What screen resolution(s) would you prefer? (See further below for explanations.)

    2560x1440 @ 165Hz as a minimum.

    13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen? (See further below for explanations.)

    Open to either.

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?

To a degree. Currently using a Asus Zephyrus and enjoy the form factor and sleekness but will to go larger to get the spec’s I want with good cooling.

    Notebook Components

    15) How much hard drive space do you need?

    2TB NVMe preferred.

    Timing, Warranty and Longevity

    16) When are you buying this laptop?

In the next couple of weeks.

    17) How long do you expect to use this laptop?

    12 months at least.

    18) How long could you afford to do without your laptop if it were to fail?

I have a backup so a month or so.

    19) Would you be willing to pay significantly extra for on-site warranty, or would it be acceptable to you to have to ship the laptop to the vendor for repair with perhaps a week or more outage?

    Not required.

OK, so what I want is a top spec AMD CPU, 3080 16GB Max-P, 2560x1440@165Hz, min 16GB, min 2TB NVMe in a nice form factor with reasonable cooling. And a MUX switch. For £2.5K

Legion 7 has what you need. QHD 165Hz, 3080, 5900HX, 16/32 GBs RAM, 1TB+ SSD. There's a pretty active forum here as well. Jarrod's Tech also covers this model, and its lower profile brother, the Legion 5 Pro, in details.

I second this but the 5800h, rtx 3080 spec will do just fine for you. You can grab it from Currys for around £2k :D

If not Currys grab it through ebay via the currys outlet, you still get their warranty and ebay money back guarantee alongside it, that's if you don't like it!

For either configuration you have to remember to swap out the RAM with dual rank + dual channel sticks for optimal performance, these cheeky ****ers selling these laptops in the UK LOVE to take shortcuts and include a single stick of ram or single rank ram even if it's dual channel. It will make sizable performance impact believe me... :)

The Lenovo Legion 7 is perfect for your needs.. If you want something thiner, the Medion X25 Beast with a RTX 3080.. You'll have to do a BIOS update but will get the same performance then as a Legion 7..
