Hello! I am trying to actvate G-Sync on my new Asus G14 with RTX 2060. However, the option is not showing in Nvidia control panel. From what I understand the display support Freesync and also have G-Sync Compatible available. But the option to set up G-Sync is not there. Has anyone got this to work and how did you do? Thanks in advance! (To clarify, Im not using an external monitor, Im trying to set it up on the laptops monitor).

Of course it's not there because it is a laptop that uses older Optimus tech and not the new one . Since the screen is not connected to the Nvidia vga, Gsync is not available because the integrated gpu in the CPU is controlling the screen and not the Nvidia gpu.
In this case amd gpu is in charge and since the panel has been Adaptive Sync certified you can enable Freesync in the AMD vga driver.
Freesync will give you almost the same experience as Gsync if Asus and the screen manufacturer set a correct vrr window.

In short your laptop is not Gsync capable and use Freesync instead.

Okay, thank you for the in depth answer. Im sorry for my lack of knowledgde, but can I activate Freesync to use with the RTX 2060 or does that only work when the laptop is on the integrated GPU? If I can activate it, how do I do that?

The AMD GPU is in charge of the screen and Freesnyc and it does not matter if the Nvidia gpu is on or off.
What the Nvidia gpu does is that it gives some extra boost in processing power when a game or other high gpu using app is active.
So if you enable Freesync it will work everytime however if you enable the Nvidia gpu too then games will run much better because the Nvidia gpu will be rendering the games, but the AMD GPU will be controlling the screen .

Do you know how to enable Freesync on the G14? I cant find any guides for that, all of them says to do it on the screen UI, but since it is a laptop monitor it does not really have a built in screen UI right?

You enable Freesync in the Radeon Settings app. That's it.
