Hi all, I just bought this monitor wishing to take advantage of both its resolution and its GSync capabilities.
    I own an Alienware 17 R4 with a GTX 1080 GPU and a built in 2k display (120Hz)
I bought it reconditioned aware of the some of the problems that this model has shown in the past, but to me it was an afordable option if I was lucky enough to find a working unit.
On Windows 10 I have been able to use it as a second display with almost no problem, I have played some the games and GSync is great. I've noticed though some flickering, it is not as in the videos around the internet, it is more like vertical refresh like when you make a video of a screen (very very subtle) after a few moments I don't notice it anymore. ( I have to say that I have noticed this on my other external display - Dell Ultrasharp 2715 but very few times).

After a moment this does not happen anymore.

On ubuntu it is a different story, the flickering is just crazy, and there seems to be overlapping between windows in front and in the back of the screen. It only works with a specific screen configuration (built in screen as primary display)

Does anything I describe seem normal to you? Maybe something driver related? Throw the monitor away? ;-)

Thanks in advance for any insights,

Are you using Displayport or HDMI?

Maybe some overscan setting or some other setting related to the image quality/refresh rate?
