I've been following this laptop since it was announced at Computex.

Unfortunately, the information on it's release has been slim. The marketing information on Acer's website says August but we're in September and no release. In addition, it looks like Acer showcased it again at IFA last week. Does anyone know anything?

I imagine the heat is giving them problems. They'll either go MQ or cancel it.

That's the first new mention of the Acer Max-Q laptop I've seen in months - since end of May 2017... I wonder if it's an old story getting picked up again and republished.

Last time I looked I couldn't find the Acer Triton 700 listed anywhere in Acer's laptop site product pages, besides the original press release it's not listed as an active product.

I thought the Acer Triton 700 was a canceled product / no show months ago.

They showcased it again. This time at IFA 2017 August 31 - September 5

But it's not in Acer's active product pages... it's a ghost for show, but after many months still a no show, not shipping.

It's been too long as a never shipping model, I doubt it will ever ship. Max-Q isn't enough of a "thing" to hang around long either.

Who would want the Triton 700 with that goofy placed trackpad, very unwieldy, especially with the Asus Zephyrus topping the Max-Q performance benchmarks for $300 less.

It must be shipping soon, or it would be just silly to give out hands on units at IFA just 1 week ago. It really is their answer to Razer and Asus' gaming ultrabooks.

I think they will back peddle though... most likely a GTX 1070 MQ or something. Unless they have vapor chambers, not even 1080 MQ will be cooled on that (what looks to be) basic cooling system

It's already available in Singapore since start of June. Apparently they are also available with 1060, but I wonder if the 1060 is MQ

    I wouldn't mind one with a 1060
