    Hi,

    Thank you guys for all the useful information. I removed the ram and ssd last night. I plugged both back in tonight and the laptop is completely dead (no power lights or anything). I took apart the laptop and re-connected all the connections. The LED lights for power don't come on anymore (it usually comes on even if I don't press the power button). Not sure how that could happen

    Then you have not re connect the power button in the right way.
    But if the laptop was dead after removing the SSD, ram must be inside, then you have done what's possible.
    Maybe you can look for another mobo, like downloads said.
