Where can I download the latest drivers? (answer credits to dasfool)
Intel GS45 Express - Video, Chipset, Sata, Wireless
    http://www.intel.com/Products/Notebook/Chipsets/GS45/GS45-overview.htm
Click "Tools & Software" -> "Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Drivers" to get to the Video drivers.

    Chipset and sata drivers: http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-029319.htm

    Intel 5100 wireless drivers: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/
On left side hover "Wireless Networking" -> "Intel WiFi Products" -> "Intel® WiFi Link 5300 and Intel® WiFi Link 5100 products" -> Download the software application version, it should include the newest driver as well

    Atheros - Lan http://partner.atheros.com/Drivers.aspx
Grab the drivers from the "Atheros AR81Family Windows Driver x86/x64(Win7,Vista, XP, Server 2003)" category. I'm not sure which one to grab though, "AR8131_AR8132" or "AR81FamilyWinSetup" I'm guessing either would work.

    Realtek - Audio (HD Audio)
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/
Click - "Downloads" -> "High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)" -> "Vista, Windows7 Driver (32/64 bits) Driver only (ZIP file)"

The Alcor website seems inaccessible at the moment so I can't get updated card reader drivers and I don't know which camera and touchpad is in this so those will have to wait as well.

How can I enable two finger scrolling and three finger gestures for the touchpad?

I'm sorry, I don't know. Maybe it's the graphics driver's fault, just guessing here.
    Edit:
Someone on a Chinese board has the same problem. Seems to be XP related. If I find out something, I'll let you know.

Maybe it would be a good idea to start a timeline thread explicitly dedicated to XP. There are other people on the board who installed XP on their timelines but info gets buried pretty fast among Vista/Win7 users. I will join the club, but right now I wait for my 1810tz to come to Germany in about two months.

An alternative method for 720p and 1080p playback for Windows 7 users:

I didn't have enough time with the laptop to try the Bourne clip but I've tried others, including a 20GB 1080p movie, and they played great. Can someone with the 1410 and W7 confirm whether or not Phil's Bourne clip plays smoothly?

I probably won't have my 1410 for another week (Amazon was being rather lame so i canceled and went with J&R) so I can't try and of this myself.

I finally got Alcor's website to load and discovered they don't have drivers to download their. Looks like we're stuck with what Acer gives us for the card reader. It's labeled x86 though, is that driver ok to install for Vista/7 x64?

I dug through the camera driver zips and the only one that says anything about Crystal Eye is the Chicony driver. I'm not convinced that this is the manufacturer though. Can anyone chime in on which camera is actually in this machine (AS1410 America) and is it ok for x64?

Last, I did a bit of homework and it looks like the AS1410 has a Synaptics touchpad with gesture support, etc. so I went to the Synaptics website and it says that you should get the drivers from the manufacturer's website instead of using the generic driver from Synaptics, otherwise you may lose some functionality. Looks like we'll be using the Acer driver and, thankfully, this one includes an x64 folder.

    I installed windows 7 x64 RTM and the synaptics driver 12.2.4.1 x64

I am able to enable all gestures and use the two finger scroll utility (found on the net) on my red 1410. Ive had it since friday from J&R.

The two finger scroll works, but is a bit quirky. its not very good like my macbook pro. I need more practice.

I'm running the x64 launch manager version 2.0.04 to get the keyboard volume controls to work. The keyboard seems a bit slow though with this installed. I'll probably remove it.

So far, I love the 1410!

Yes they are, unfortunately. Others have tried on other timelines, but it didn't work. The 1410/1810t are made by Quanta just like the Aspire One SmartFan was developed for.
