    Hello.
I own an ACER Aspire 1640 laptop, and after reinstalling Italian Windows XP Pro into English Windows XP Pro I would like to access all necessary utilities from hidden PQSERVICE partition. How can I do that?
    Thank you a lot.
    Regards

Thanks a lot for the link gino.
But since i already have all them drivers on that hidden partition, i would like to make use of it, and try to access them. I am on dial-up so downloading for me is not an option. Do you know a way in which can i access them?
Besides, i can't find there in the ftp directory any kind of division by laptop version, so, how do i know which is good for my specific laptop version. Installing utilities based on guessing will mess up everything and make me reinstalling entire operating system.
    Thanks again.

Use Norton Partition Magic. That program should help you

I finally copied all files from PQSERVICE partition to C:\ using Partition magic 8.0, but i have no clue what to do with those 2.5GB of files. I can't directly any drivers or utilities. I can see some CD image files and .iso files there. Seems like i have to burn a DVD and boot from it.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks a lot.

This is what eRecovery Management is for.

    Run eRecovery Management

Select the first option: "Recovery settings: Create backup files and change password."

    Click Next

On the next page select the option: "Burn image to disk: create backup disk"

    Click Next

There are two options to choose here, choose number 2 "Application CD"

Then click Next and continue from there. This creates a backup CD or DVD that contains all the Acer applications and all your drivers, which you can selectively install from a nice interface on this disk.

I assume at the beginning when you first got your machine, you ran the first option to create a default recovery image

    Hope that helps

Thanks a lot for reply everyone!
Yellow11, I’ve done exactly what you are talking about.
For those who will encounter same situation [assuming they will want to reinstall Windows manually, for example, from Italian to English Windows version] in the future here is what i did step by step:
    1. Boot computer with factory Windows version on it.
    2. After operating system loads follow the prompt to create backup DVD [it will always prompt, unless you choose it to not bother you again]
    3. Manually reinstall Windows [better to format C: partition on reinstall]
    4. Insert your backup DVD and here we go, you can separately install any drivers or utilities from nice simple Acer interface.
    Cheers everyone.

hey! i never knew you could create an "Application CD". So i'm guess that is the cd that has all the programs and all the drivers needed for your specific computer. Whereas, the Backup CD/DVD is only the windows os itself.

So really, i should have 2 DVDs, one for the backup windows, and one for the applications.

i think its almost time to delete that hidden partition...
