Hey all, I've been looking at several notebook manufacturers for a while now, and I'm considering purchasing a notebook in the near future. I have researched the popular brands including Dell, Toshiba, HP, and Sony, but a new company has caught my eye. I subscribe to PC Gamer magazine, and saw an advertisement within it for ABS Computers. The ad had a graph on it from www.resellerratings.com comparing customer satisfaction with Dell and Gateway. This graph intrigued me, so I decided to check out their site at www.abscomputers.com. After doing a fair amount of research, I have found ABS to be superb. Similar systems configured with Dell and others tend to be $500 greater in price than similarly configured ABS systems. I am looking for a notebook around the $2000 range and was suprised when I came across this site not having ABS in its list of manufacturers. Please visit ABS and give your thoughts, or if you know of a better manufacturer, please say so. Custom System: ZForce F2: (approx)$2200-Pentium M 1.7Ghz, Ati Radeon 9600 64MB mobile, 60GB Toshiba 5400RPM HD, integrated wireless, 15" Screen, CD-RW/DVD Combo drive, etc. My needs for whatever laptop I purchase would entail the machine to be an adequate gaming system, have wireless internet, play DVDs. and be priced around $2000. Thank you for your thoughts![8D]

P.S. The ABS site is currently down right now (2:00PM EST), but should be up soon.

well, I'm simply not familiar with ABS and the quality of their product which would be the reason we don't have their PCs in our database or any reviews attributed to them. It seems like you know this company well, do you work there or are you affiliated with them? Maybe you could post some links to reviews we could checkout as you have been doing some research on them.

Thanks for the help! As for the components the company uses, all I could find was this.

Well honestly, I'm only 15. I discovered this company out of the search for high-end computers at a reasonable price (as compared to Alienware and others). I used to be a die-hard Dell fan (as my dad has bought numerous PCs from Dell), but ABS has swayed me. As for links to reviews, here are a couple (for notebooks):

Hope this all helps! Any more comments are welcome!

Yeah...There was another post about ABS, so I towed this post to the same forum. They seem to offer a huge feature set for little money. The speculation is that they simply resell components built in Taiwan without all the overhead of a Dell or Gateway. I cannot find enough evidence to say their quality is great, but I don't see any reason to think it's poor. So...for the money, they seem like a good play.
