I want to get a new laptop, and the A8 series seems to be the best bet for my budget/specification. There are many different variations on the A8 series though (e.g. A8Jc, A8Jn, A8Fm, etc). Could someone please explain to me the differences between each model, or a rough trend that the models follow, or direct me to a link that does explain? Each model number tends to have the 4 charator model number, followed by a hyphen and a further number, but for the time being I am just going to deal with the first bit! One step at a time! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

    A8f - Single Core T1300, Integrated 950GMA, 60GB, 512MB's of RAm
    A8jm - Core Duo T2400, Geforce 7600 512MB, 100GB HD, 1GB RAM
    A8jc - Core Duo T2300, Nvidia 7300, 80GB HD, 512MB's of RAM
    A8ja - Core Duo T2300, X1600, 100GB HD, 1GB RAM
    A8js - Core 2 Duo T7200, Geforce 7700 512MB, 100GB-120GB HD, 1GB RAM
    A8jn - Core 2 Duo T5500, Geforce 7400, 80GB HD, 512MB's of RAM
    A8je - Core 2 Duo T5500, ATI X1450, 100GB HD, 512MB's of RAM

These are the differences here in Taiwan. The specs might differ slightly depending on your location. The A8j/a/c/m are all older Core Duo models, A8f an older single core model. The A8j/s/n/e are newer Core 2 Duo models. The A8 line is huge I'm sure I'm leaving some out... This is all off the top of my head, but you might want to check out the Asus site.

I'm really interested in the A8 series myself.

The A8Fm model is also available in North America.
If I remember correctly, it has a Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz (don't remember the model number), 100GB HD, 1GB DDR2, GMA950, and bluetooth.

Here in Taiwan, the A8je is ~$1200, including tax and a RAM upgrade to 1GB. It is one of the newest A8 models here.

Yet here in the UK, I don't even know if there are any A8J's out, just A8F's. *sigh* Anyone know the release date (and yes, I have tried to find it online)?
