So looking for a do it all laptop for my sister. Her work is changing and she needs one laptop to rule all tasks. She needs a powerful laptop ( powerful as in processing power ) She runs several work programs that are processor heavy ( 4 to 6 cores is plenty ) but here is the catch - She needs something she can write on - She needs to do lot of note taking. Rather than having multiple devices optimized for different tasks - she is hoping to just buy one device ( I'm buying - I'm also heavily interested in just having one single purchase :D )

    1) What is your budget? $2000

    2) What size notebook would you prefer? Lightweight!!

    3) Which country will you buying this notebook? USA!!

    4) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed? YESS! Save me the money is what I say!

    5) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook? Note taking / Research / Media consumption / Processor heavy tasks

    6) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both? The laptop will be traveling every day and will go with her everywhere! She needs to logged in 24/7 on certain work platforms!

    7) Will you be playing games on your notebook? Absolutely NOT

    8) How many hours of battery life do you need? 8 hours would be cool!

    9) What OS do you prefer? Doesn't matter.

    10) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen? Whatever is good for media consumption.

    11) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you? She will have skins on it. So doesn't matter.

    12) When are you buying this laptop? THIS WEEK!

    13) How long could you afford to do without your laptop if it were to fail? Her life would be oveR!!!!!

Check Dell's site, but that price sounds right.

The HP Elite Dragonfly is worth a look, though it'll run you a little more.
